Museum No Hero is een initiatief van de Enschedese ondernemer (Hartman Tuinmeubelen) Geert Steinmeijer. Het Rijksmuseum Twenthe organiseerde de afgelopen jaren al verschillende tentoonstellingen op basis van zijn kunstcollectie. Bij Steinmeijer ontstond daarna de wens om zijn verzameling op een permanente basis te ‘delen’ met het publiek. Toen hij hoorde dat voor de voormalige rentmeesterij van kasteel Twickel een nieuwe bestemming werd gezocht, was hij meteen geïnteresseerd.
